In early 2000, the company UMLTD made every attempt to prohibit the creation of the domain zone CO.BZ. For this purpose, the organization filed a lawsuit against ICANN. The main argument for such actions was the fact that, according to UMLTD specialists, the emergence of the CO.BZ zone would lead to unfair competition. However, the court dismissed UMLTD's claim, and the CO.BZ domain zone became available to users in 2001.
